About Us Wendy Smith, Certified Massage Therapist, has been in practice for over 30 years in her Petaluma office. She started her training in 1975. She went on to study at the Kabuki Shiatsu School in San Francisco, California, where she was certified with Hirotashi Yamamoto upon completion of their curriculum in 1978. During that time she also studied with renowned healer and teachers Shizuto Masunaga. Wendy has continued her training and education throughout the years at local massage schools and with private instructors. She studied Anatomy at Alive & Well in Fairfax, California, Deep Bodywork at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California and has taken courses in Tai Massage, Swedish Massage and many more! Most recently she has been studying cranial work, starting with Upledger and has continued this training as well as joint mobilization technique with Eddie Rosen, a Physical Therapist in Cotati,California. Wendy has taught massage classes privately and through local medical centers, hospitals and businesses since 1988. These classes include Shiatsu classes for nurses, workplace injury prevention and stress reduction classes as well as Self-help Shiatsu classes. Wendy has also taught at the Center for Well Being in Santa Rosa, Sutter Medical Group (Women’s Center) in Santa Rosa and Hospice of Petaluma. As well, she developed and taught a successful self-help Acupressure class at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa for 8 years. | | |
